In a move that underscores the role of educational institutions in sustainable development, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) signed a cooperation protocol on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, with the “Haya Karima” Foundation, aiming to strengthen youth capabilities and encourage them to launch their own projects by combining academic training with hands-on experience.
The protocol was signed by Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, President of AASTMT, and Dr. Bouthaina Mostafa, Vice Chairperson of the Board of Trustees at “Haya Karima.” The event was attended by Col. Karim Ashraf, Head of Marketing, Mr. Ahmed El-Demerdash, Marketing Director, Ms. Mahi El-Hadidi, Communications Officer, and Mr. Ahmed Ramzy, Director of the Technical Office, along with several AASTMT leaders and center representatives.
Training Programs and Comprehensive Support
The collaboration includes the implementation of training programs and specialized workshops through the AASTMT Center for Entrepreneurship, targeting both students and graduates. It also offers technical and advisory support for entrepreneurship projects sponsored by “Haya Karima,” especially those serving underprivileged groups.
The agreement further provides training opportunities for the foundation’s staff, summer internships for outstanding students, and allocates part of the excellence scholarships to support humanitarian cases under the foundation’s care. Moreover, it encourages students to take part in volunteering and field projects related to the foundation’s community initiatives.
Human Development at the Core of National Vision
“Haya Karima” emphasized that this partnership aligns with its unwavering commitment to human development and investing in the capacities of Egyptian youth as the cornerstone of progress. AASTMT also expressed pride in this collaboration, affirming its societal role in preparing capable generations to face challenges and contribute to the realization of Egypt Vision 2030.
Previous Collaboration and Practical Learning
This agreement builds upon a previous partnership, where AASTMT’s Media Faculty in Alexandria executed a graduation project in collaboration with “Haya Karima,” focusing on the foundation’s activities and community impact—serving as a model of practical education that highlights the value of merging academic learning with real-world application.
