This plug-and-play enclosure allows you to use any compatible NVMe SSD as external USB-C storage, no internal installation required.
Setup took less than a minute. After sliding off the cover, I slotted the SSD into the M.2 port and secured it with the included rubber plug.
The enclosure even comes with a thermal pad for heat dissipation.
Once assembled, I connected it to my PC using the included USB-C cable.
Windows instantly recognized the drive, and I was able to access and reformat it without opening up my PC.
What You Can Do With It
Since then, I’ve been using the enclosure as a reliable high-speed external drive.
It works well for storing files, running games, and backing up data.
The only caveat is that it’s limited to USB 3.1 Gen 2 speeds (10Gbps)—so while it’s fast, it won’t deliver the full performance of an NVMe SSD connected directly to your motherboard.
Still, for extra storage, older games, or frequent file transfers, this solution is more than enough.
And it beats letting a perfectly good SSD sit unused in a drawer.
Check Your SSD Size First
Before you buy, make sure the enclosure supports your SSD’s size.
Most desktop NVMe SSDs use the 2280 form factor, but laptop models might use 2230 or 2242.
