Integrated Russian solutions in additive manufacturing and energy storage can contribute to accelerating Egypt’s technological transformation
Cairo, Egypt – 13 November 2025: The Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom participated in the activities of TransMEA 2025, Egypt’s leading regional platform for innovation, technology, industry, and sustainable mobility. The exhibition was held under the patronage of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi from 9 to 11 November 2025 at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in Cairo.
This year’s exhibition was held under the theme “Industry and Transport Together for Sustainable Development,” bringing together participants from 30 countries over three days and showcasing the latest technologies, advanced solutions, and future strategies aimed at supporting regional growth.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt; Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport; and Eng. Karim El-Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. The exhibition and conference attracted more than 75,000 visitors and hosted over 40 sessions featuring 120 speakers from the transport, logistics, energy, and industrial sectors.
Rosatom’s participation highlighted its diverse technological portfolio that extends beyond nuclear energy, through the presentation of advanced industrial innovations designed to boost Egypt’s manufacturing capabilities, enhance efficiency, and support technology localization in line with the country’s development and sustainability goals. At the company’s pavilion, the Additive Technologies Division showcased an integrated ecosystem for additive manufacturing, including specialized materials, software, and advanced 3D printers—enabling faster prototyping, empowering local production, and reducing dependence on imports. This provides a practical model for industrial transformation aligned with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
In parallel, Rosatom presented its energy storage technologies, including lithium batteries and modular systems covering the full value chain, with the aim of improving energy reliability, enhancing sustainability, and supporting Egypt’s transition toward a modern, low-carbon economy.
Throughout the exhibition, Rosatom representatives held a series of productive meetings with Egyptian and regional partners to explore cooperation opportunities in emerging technology sectors and gain a deeper understanding of the needs of Egypt’s industrial market—paving the way for expanded partnerships and long-term collaboration.
Commenting on Rosatom’s participation, Murad Aslanov, Head of Rosatom’s Office in Egypt, said:
“Our participation in TransMEA 2025 reaffirms Rosatom’s commitment to driving industrial innovation aimed at improving quality of life and supporting sustainable economic growth. Egypt is not only an important partner for us, but a strategic one, with decades of cooperation embodied today in the El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant project. Building on this solid foundation, we are expanding into advanced technology fields aligned with Egypt’s national priorities—from additive manufacturing, which enhances production efficiency and accelerates industrial processes, to energy storage systems that strengthen the reliability and efficiency of energy supply. Our goal is to transfer knowledge, build local expertise, and empower Egyptian companies to integrate into the global technology ecosystem. At Rosatom, every initiative we undertake is grounded in one principle: shared progress built on trust, innovation, and sustainability.”
About TransMEA
The Intelligent Transport, Logistics, and Industry Exhibition and Conference (TransMEA) is Egypt’s leading regional event dedicated to innovation in mobility, digital transformation, and industrial development. The exhibition brings together government leaders, global experts, and technology solution providers to explore the technologies shaping the future of transport, energy, and industry in Egypt, Africa, and the Middle East. The 2025 edition holds particular significance as Egypt pursues an unprecedented industrial transformation, deepens local manufacturing, achieves self-sufficiency, and enhances the global competitiveness of its exports.
In 2025, Russia celebrates the 80th anniversary of the establishment of its nuclear industry, which began with the creation of the Special Committee for the Use of Atomic Energy on 20 August 1945. The history of peaceful—alongside military—nuclear development has witnessed a series of unique achievements and breakthroughs.
Russia continues to strengthen cooperation with all interested countries and actively participates in major international projects, with Rosatom and its subsidiaries playing a central role in these efforts.
