Summary
As part of its ongoing commitment to community development, the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) has signed a new cooperation protocol with ElNas Hospital, a project by ElGoud Foundation, to fund highly specialized surgeries, therapeutic catheterizations, and endoscopy procedures. The agreement includes a financial contribution of EGP 50 million, supporting the hospital’s mission to offer free, high-quality medical services to underserved patients.
Investing in Health, Not Just Giving
Mohamed El-Etreby, CEO of NBE, emphasized that the bank views its support as more than a donation—it’s an investment in the health of Egyptians and in the future of generations who deserve a fair and advanced healthcare system. He added that such initiatives reflect NBE’s values and align with Egypt Vision 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, especially the goal of “Good Health and Well-being.”
A Model of Bank–NGO Collaboration
Ayman Abbas, Treasurer of ElGoud Foundation, described the partnership with NBE as an inspiring model of collaboration between the banking sector and civil society. He praised the bank for being among the first institutions to support ElNas Hospital since its inception in 2019, whether through funding surgeries, equipping operating rooms, or supporting the hospital’s tech infrastructure.
With this new agreement, NBE will finance the treatment of 278 patients, helping to expand the hospital’s reach and save more lives across Egypt.
A Strategic Vision for Healthcare Support
Dina Abou Taleb, Head of Marketing and Community Development at NBE, stated that supporting the healthcare sector is a core strategic focus for the bank. The partnership with ElNas Hospital is part of a long-term vision aimed at improving healthcare services in Egypt while fostering community engagement and encouraging other entities to participate in similar impactful initiatives.
Over EGP 180 Million Contributed Since 2019
Abou Taleb also revealed that NBE’s contributions to ElNas Hospital have exceeded EGP 180 million since 2019, supporting the establishment of medical units, procurement of cutting-edge medical equipment, and numerous complex surgeries, reinforcing the hospital’s capacity to provide free services with excellence.
