The number of insured clients also rose to 10.5 million, compared to 9.5 million in 2022/2023, reflecting a 10.3% increase, and highlighting the sector’s expanding reach to previously underserved segments of the population.
Globally, the microinsurance market was valued at $94.3 billion in 2024, and is projected to grow to $144.4 billion by 2033, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.81% between 2025 and 2033.
In a related development, Egypt’s Annual Insurance Conference hosted around 350 participants from 30 countries, featuring 35 speakers from local, regional, and international institutions—marking the largest and most diverse participation since the event’s inception.
The conference also included specialized training workshops, with participants receiving certificates of recognition. A closed regulatory session brought together representatives from Egypt, Germany, Morocco, Nigeria, Kenya, and Seychelles to discuss frameworks for innovation and regulation in inclusive insurance.
Additionally, a handicrafts exhibition was organized during the event to support micro-enterprises, showcasing the strong link between insurance and community development.
These figures underscore the positive and accelerating trajectory of Egypt’s microinsurance sector, driven by digital infrastructure and progressive regulations, which are enabling insurers to expand their reach and serve broader segments of the Egyptian population.
