Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White’s sports film “The Iron Claw” has a release date.
“Migration,” an animated comedy from Universal and Illumination, will premiere on December 22 with the film.
“Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” (December 20) and “The Colour Purple” (December 25) are set to release a few days apart.
Sean Durkin’s film follows the Von Erich family, a dynasty of professional wrestlers that created history in the 1980s.
The “Von Erich curse” tormented the brothers outside the ring while they fought.
Efron and White play Kevin and Kerry Von Erich, while Harris Dickinson plays David, Holt McCallany plays Fritz, Maura Tierney plays Doris, and Lily James plays Kevin’s wife Pam.
The beefed-up brothers have a sentimental moment in a new “The Iron Claw” picture from A24. Their physique has intrigued internet users.
Due to his muscular figure, an image of Efron boxing went viral earlier this year. For the part, “The Bear” star White added 40 pounds of muscle.
“The Iron Claw” is in post-production and unlikely to attend film festivals. A24 and House Productions funded and produced the film. BBC Film and Access Entertainment co-fund it.
Tessa Ross, Juliette Howell, Angus Lamont from House Productions, Durkin, and A24 produce. Derrin Schlesinger, Harrison Huffman, Len Blavatnik, Danny Cohen, and Eva Yates are executive producers.
