With a win over Espoir Fukash in the Basketball Africa League, Zamalek’s basketball team extended their unbeaten streak (BAL).
For the second edition of the BAL, a new format was established, with the 12 competing teams split into two conferences of six teams, the Sahara Conference and the Nile Conference.
The playoffs are a single-elimination competition in which the top eight teams from both conferences compete.
The White Knights got off to a strong start in their title defence, defeating South Sudan’s Cobra Sports Club 83-60.
They won their second game against the Cape Town Tigers of South Africa by a score of 101-77, followed by a hard-fought 85-72 victory over Atlético Petro de Luanda of Angola on Friday.
