William Hurt, a well-known actor who starred in everything from 1980s dramas to Marvel films, died at the age of 71. Will, the Oscar-winning actor’s son, announced his father’s death on social media, stating that his father died of natural causes. Will Hurt revealed that the legendary actor died peacefully one week before his 72nd birthday.
Hurt was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer that had spread to his bones in May 2018.
Hurt, who earned an Academy Award for Best Actor for Kiss of the Spider Woman, a 1986 film set in a Brazilian prison, has also appeared in Child of a Lesser God, Broadcast News, and History of Violence. He received an Academy Award nomination.

Hurt, one of the most popular actresses of the 1980s, transitioned to character roles in the 1990s and had a successful crossover between film and television. Hurt, who received Emmy nods for his work on ‘Damages’ and ‘Too Big to Fail,’ was also remembered by a younger generation of moviegoers for his role as General Thaddeus Ross in ‘The Incredible Hulk,’ which he played in 2008. He appeared in ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ and ‘Black Widow,’ among other films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Hurt, who attended the Juilliard School and was in the same class as Robin Williams and Christopher Reeve, has also featured in a number of stage shows.
However, Hurt’s life was marked by a number of contentious episodes.
He had a drinking problem, according to the tabloids, and so assaulted his ex-girlfriends.
In a 2013 interview with The Telegraph, the famed actress admitted to having a reputation problem, saying, “This is both a privilege and a responsibility, but I admit with shame that I can’t handle the responsibility side properly most of the time.” When I reflect on my behaviour in some situations, I see that I disappointed myself,’ he remarked.
