After Egypt’s national team failed to qualify for the World Cup, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) fired national team head coach Carlos Queiroz.
The decision came after the Portuguese coach failed to take the Pharaohs to a title or even to World Cup qualification, which was the primary reason and objective for appointing Queiroz.
Queiroz won 13 games with the national squad, drew two, and lost five, including two in the Arab Cup.
Who will take the helm in the event of Queiroz’s demise?
According to A Ehab El Komi, a member of the EFA’s board of directors, the tandem of Hossam Hassan and Ehad Galal has been nominated to lead the Pharaohs throughout the future term.
He also stated that Hossam Hassan, Ehab Galal, and Ahmed Samy will be the nominees to succeed Queiroz.
