STOCKHOLM — Veoneer, a Swedish automotive technology company, said on Thursday that the acquisition by Qualcomm Inc. SSW Partners will conclude on April 1.
Qualcomm Inc and SSW Partners, a New York-based investment group, announced in October that they had struck an agreement to acquire Veoneer for $4.5 billion.
Veoneer announced Thursday that its new owners will name Jacob Svanberg, senior vice president of lidar, as CEO, succeeding Jan Carlson, who would serve as adviser to the board of directors and the CEO.
It originally said that the transaction will conclude in 2022. Veoneer was split out from Autoliv, the producer of airbags and seatbelts, in 2018.
