Summary
TikTok ban..
What TikTok says about content control
Our Community Guidelines tell you what you can and can’t do on TikTok to make sure everyone feels welcome, safe, and entertained.
We’ve made tools and technology that can find and get rid of harmful material and behavior that breaks our Community Guidelines.
These tools help us keep our site safe for everyone and make our community safer.
How does TikTok make sure that its Community Guidelines are followed?
We use both automatic and human review to find people who break our Community Guidelines and take action against them.
We will let the account owner know if we find information that violates the rules and remove it.
What happens if someone looks over your TikTok videos?
If your TikTok content is being looked at, our Trust and Safety team will see it and decide if it needs to be taken down or made unsuitable for the For You feed based on our Community Guidelines.
This could happen when you post something, if it gets a lot of views, or if someone reports it.
As soon as a violation is found, we will: • Take down the content and let you know why; You will be given the chance to challenge the ruling.
What happens to your TikTok account if someone deletes your videos?
If you post something that breaks our Community Guidelines, we’ll let you know in the Account Updates part of your Inbox what will happen. In your Account Status, you can see a list of the rules you broke.
Our system keeps track of how many times your account has broken our Community Guidelines. For each violation, your account will get a strike.
As explained in our Community Guidelines, strikes are given based on either a policy area (like safety and politeness) or a feature (like comments or direct messages).
The number of strikes you get will depend on how badly you broke the policy. The more strikes you get, the more likely it is that your account will be banned for good. If you’re about to be banned, we’ll let you know.
If you violate our rules more than once, or if one violation is very bad, we may ban your account for good.
If you break the rules while using certain features, like LIVE or direct messages, we may temporarily block your access to those features while your content is being reviewed.
This is to make sure that you don’t instantly start breaking the rules again.
What happens if the For You feed doesn’t accept your video?
If we decide that your video isn’t good enough for the For You feed, you can look at the reason, let us know what you think, and file an appeal if you think we were wrong.
Remember that you will need to open up your TikTok settings and turn on analytics in order to see our choice.
