On Christmas Day, a number of well-known athletes from across the globe wished their fans and followers a happy holiday and engaged in the festivities by sending season’s greetings through social media.
Many sportsmen are now taking the time off to celebrate the holidays, and some of them, like Argentina’s World Cup champions, have extra incentive to extend their celebrations. However, some of them will be back in action starting on Monday.
The Instagram account of Liverpool star Mohamed was used to extend holiday pleasantries to friends and family on behalf of the whole Mohamed family. Erling Haaland of Manchester City also messaged his supporters on Christmas, joining Mohamed Salah in doing so.
Cricket players from Australia were keeping themselves busy as they prepared for one of the most important events on the sporting calendar, which was the Boxing Day Test that was being played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. On the eve of the second test match against South Africa, they were joined by members of their family at the MCG.
Others, such as the mixed martial arts (MMA) star Conor McGregor and the Formula One driver Charles Leclerc, have also shared comments on Instagram.
