When the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer SUVs arrived last fall, they were the largest models in the Jeep family. However, that status will be transitory.
The Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L, extended versions of the burly utility vehicles, make their New York debut Wednesday, as the brand tries to compete directly with rivals such as the Cadillac Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon XL, and Lincoln Navigator L.
The large SUVs are among the most profitable cars in the auto industry, and in the case of the Suburban, have cultivated a devoted client following for decades.
The 2023 Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L will be available in the second part of the year, measuring 12 inches longer than standard-wheelbase vehicles.
All of the technology included in existing models is retained, but drivers will get access to additional storage space in the back. The long-wheelbase vehicles have a maximum cargo capacity of 44.2 cubic feet behind the third row, which is 15.8 cubic feet more than the shorter models.
