Renault’s move came after Volkswagen, BMW, and Ford halted production at local plants.
Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares announced earlier this month that the maker of Jeep, Peugeot, Opel, and Fiat brands would halt exports and imports to Russia.
Tavares said Stellantis could move some van production from Kaluga to Hordain, France, and Luton, England.
According to Tavares, Russia generates 20-30 million euros ($33 million) in annual profit, negligible to the automaker’s overall operations.
The Kaluga plant, 150 km southwest of Moscow, produces 11,000 commercial vehicles annually.
