This summer, the Leicester Museum & Art Gallery will have a family-friendly show about the secret world of snakes. The show will feature some amazing animals that are sure to captivate guests.
The free exhibition starts on Saturday, June 8th, and will include famous snakes like the cobra, the rattlesnake, and the green anaconda. A 13-foot-long body of a Burmese python will show how this huge reptile is put together.
In total, 15 shows of snakes will be set up. These will include grass snakes, adders, and other snakes that can be found in the UK.
Snake skeletons, models, and taxidermied snakes will be used to show the variety of environments that snakes have evolved to live in. The shape and function of snakes will also be studied.
There will be interactive displays with award-winning photos of snakes in their natural environments around the world, as well as interesting facts about the snakes’ weight, length, eating habits, and concealment.
Snakes starts on Saturday, June 8, and runs through Sunday, September 1. There is no fee to enter.
Please be aware that the exhibit will not include any real snakes and that no snakes were hurt in the making of the exhibit.
