Earlier this month, three San Francisco cops stopped an autonomous vehicle travelling without headlights and tried to converse with it.
Cruise Automation, supported by GM, has been operating a robotaxi service in the city since February. In a tweet, the business stated it had been working with authorities:
“We cooperate closely with the SFPD on how to communicate with our vehicles,” the business added. Cruise later tweeted that the automobile performed what it was supposed to do, which was to pull over somewhere safe so cops could call the firm.
A Cruise representative told Bloomberg that the traffic halt was rectified.
