The Kremlin said today, Monday, that there is no reason to talk peace with Ukraine right now.
Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin, said, “There are no grounds for peace talks with Ukraine right now. We need to know what the purpose of the upcoming talks on the war in Ukraine will be in Saudi Arabia.”
He also said, “The Ukrainian counterattack didn’t go as planned, and NATO is wasting resources.”
Diplomatic sources told the American newspaper Wall Street Journal that talks on the Ukraine issue will be held in the Saudi city of Jeddah next August. Officials from Kiev and about 30 other countries, but not Russia, will be there.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, about 30 government and unofficial plans to stop the war in Ukraine have been sent to Russia. But Russian President Vladimir Putin thinks the Chinese and African efforts are more important. He thinks that the two plans would make peace in Ukraine possible.
