Marca reported on Friday that the 24-year-old French sensation Kylian Mbappe is one step closer to joining Real Madrid. As a result, Mbappe has returned to the news headlines.
Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have initiated negotiations for Mbappe’s transfer to La Liga, as reported by the Spanish media outlet.
Following Mbappe’s refusal to meet with the Saudi Al Hilal representatives, this action was taken.
Al-Hilal made a formal offer of €300 million ($328 million) for the 24-year-old, a global transfer record since 2017.
Mbappe sent a letter to the administration of Paris Saint-Germain informing them of his departure from the Parc des Princes. This sparked the dispute between the French sensation and the Qatari-owned club.
On the other hand, the Parisian club refused the free transfer of the 2018 FIFA World Cup champion, instead requesting an extension of his contract, which the French superstar declined.
As a form of punishment, Mbappe was placed up for sale and removed from PSG’s Japan preseason tour.
