“The situation with component supply is unpredictable and fluctuating; we prefer not to offer any forecasts,” stated a Renault Moscow representative.
Renault’s board of directors has opted to maintain its presence in Russia for the time being, in accordance with international sanctions and with the support of its biggest shareholder, the French state, according to two individuals close to the situation.
AvtoVAZ, which is owned by Renault, said on Monday that it would temporarily cease production at its Russian facilities in Togliatti and Izhevsk this week owing to electronic component shortages.
