According to an emiri proclamation, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has been chosen Prime Minister of Qatar by Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
According to Qatar News Agency, Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdul Aziz Al Thani resigned on Tuesday.
Since January 2016, Sheikh Mohammed served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Qatar. In addition, in November of 2017, he was promoted to the position of Deputy Prime Minister of Qatar.
He is a member of Qatar’s Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investments and has held the positions of chairman of the Qatar Investment Authority and the Qatar Fund for Development since 2018 and 2014, respectively.
