Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives Hanafi Jabali participated in the inauguration of Egypt Street in the Serbian capital, Belgrade, as part of his official visit to Serbia as the head of a delegation.
During his address at that ceremony, the Speaker of the House conveyed Egypt’s profound gratitude for that gesture, which exemplifies the unique nature of bilateral relations between the two nations.
He emphasised that Egypt and Serbia have maintained strong friendship ties throughout history, extending beyond their bilateral framework to the multilateral framework through their contributions to the establishment and leadership of the Non-Aligned Movement, which at the time served as a refuge from international polarisation and a voice for the peoples of the developing world.
Jabali stated that this celebration is a true manifestation of restoring the positive momentum of the historical Egyptian-Serbian relations in order to develop prospects for current cooperation and push it to broader horizons, on all levels, in the best interests of the two friendly nations and peoples.
