Egyptian actress Nelly Karim and her husband, former squash player and fellow actor Hisham Ashour, have unfortunately decided to divorce after being married for two and a half years.
The ex-spouses officially acknowledged their divorce without disclosing any other information.
Karim and Ashour wed in a private ceremony in a tourist resort in the North Coast, with their families in attendance, on August 11, 2021.
On August 2, they publicly declared their intention to marry, with Karim expressing on social media that the month of August will be marked by joy and contentment.
There was an age difference of 8 years between Karim and Ashour, with Ashour being 8 years younger than his bride.
Ashour was getting married for the first time, whereas Karim was getting married for the third time. The actress clandestinely married for the first time as a teenager, unbeknownst to her family, and subsequently gave birth to two boys named Karim and Youssef.
She remarried Dr. Hany Abu Al-Naga. The duration of the marriage was 11 years.
Karim and Ashour together worked on three film and TV projects: the upcoming feature “Barshama” (release date to be announced), the 2024 TV series “Rose and Layla” with Yousra, and “Omla Nadra” (2023).
