Ahmed Hatem’s star-studded film “Qasr El Basha” has lost Egyptian actress Asma Abulyazeid.
Mayan El Sayed has been selected to succeed Abulyazeid, who withdrew from the film due to scheduling complications.
Also featured in the film are Hussein Fahmy, Nabil Issa, Hamza El Eily, Nancy Salah, Ahmed Fahim, Mohammad Al Qass, Sedky Sakhr, and others.
It is produced by Hisham Abdel-Khaleq and Alaa Lashin, directed by Muhammad Bakir, and scripted by Mohamed Nayer.
Hatem was most recently depicted in the television adaptation of the 1972 film “Embratoreyet Meem” (Empire M).
Khaled El-Nabawy, Hala Shiha, Nour El-Nabawy, Nashwa Moustafa, Mahmoud Hafez, Mohamed Mahmoud Abdulaziz, Rasha Mahdi, Eman Al Sayyed, Hagar ElSarrag, and other actors were featured in the drama.
The series is produced by Aroma Studios production company, directed by Mohamed Salama, and scripted by Mohamed Suleiman Abdel Malek.
The reimagining illustrates the challenges that widower Mukhtar encounters when he is responsible for parenting six children alone, and the difficulties that arise when love enters his life.
“Embratoreyet Meem” chronicles the life of Mona (Faten Hamama), a widow who is responsible for the upbringing of her six children in addition to her professional responsibilities. She progressively develops feelings for businessman Ahmed (Ahmed Mazhar), but she is unable to readily succumb to her emotions. She is torn between her commitment to her children and her future with Ahmed.
Faten Hamama, Ahmed Mazhar, Hesham Selim, Dawlat Abyad, Ali Gawhar, Saif Abo El Naga, Nagyat Kandel, and other actors comprised the film’s ensemble.
The film was directed by Hussein Kamal, who was working from a script written by Ihsan Abd al-Qudus and Mustafa Samy.
The Ramadan 2024 drama marathon featured the reimagining, which comprises 30 episodes.
