On Sunday, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, who is in Egypt, met with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Counsellor Ahmed Fahmy, who is the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, said that the two leaders met and talked. During these talks, they reaffirmed the uniqueness of the historical ties between the two friendly countries and their shared commitment to reach new heights in many areas, especially through visits between high-level officials from both countries.
The two leaders also talked about the progress of a number of regional and international issues that both of them cared about. The Indian Prime Minister asked President Sisi to join the activities of the upcoming G20 meeting in New Delhi, which India will be hosting.
The President said that Egypt has faith in an active Indian presidency of the G20 that helps keep the bad effects of foreign problems on the world economy in check.
