On Friday, Raja Casablanca will host reigning CAF Champions League champions Al Ahly at the Stade Mohammed V in the second leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.
Last week’s first leg tie in Egypt ended in a 2-1 victory for the then-hosts. Al Ahly have been in good form in the Egyptian Premier League this season, with just one defeat.
Eight times in CAF competitions, the two sides have met. Since 2002, the hosts have not beaten the Egyptians. Al Ahly have a slim 3-2 advantage in wins here, with a couple of games ending in draws.
Prior to the first leg, they met in the CAF Super Cup final in December, with Al Ahly winning 6-5 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
