Two new millionaires from Devon and Cheshire have joined the ranks of Premium Bonds millionaires in March.
170MY806167 was the first bond number chosen, and it belonged to a Devon winner. The prize winner acquired the winning bond in July 2010 with £36,000 in Premium Bonds. ERNIE from Devon selects them as the 17th millionaire.
The winner of the second bond number chosen was 276RS522196 from Cheshire. The winner has £19,000 in Premium Bonds, which they acquired in July 2016. With this victory, they became the tenth millionaire from Cheshire Premium Bonds.
This month, more than 3.3 million additional prizes ranging between £25 and £100,000 were distributed.
For those unfamiliar with Premium Bonds, each month two £1 million jackpots are paid out, with the remainder of the prize cash split evenly between the higher value band and the remaining reward values.
Six prizes of £100,000 will be awarded, followed by ten prizes of £50,000 and so on, all the way down to 100 prizes of $5,000. The winners of the Premium Bonds are chosen using ERNIE, the Electronic Random Number Indicator Equipment.
Premium Bonds are one of the most popular savings products in the country, and they’re a great way to get into the habit of saving, with a minimum commitment of just £25.
Customers may add to their Premium Bonds holdings through bank transfer swiftly and securely, whether for themselves or their children.
“A great congratulations to our new Premium Bonds jackpot winners from Devon and Cheshire,” said Jill Waters, NS&I retail director. This is a life-changing amount of money, and we wish them the best of luck in the future.
“Apart from our two jackpot winners, ERNIE will be awarding over 3.3 million additional tax-free prizes worth £97,337,100 this month, surprise and delighting individuals all throughout the country.”
“Investing in Premium Bonds, which start at only £25, is a great way to get into the habit of saving.” This can be done by a bank transfer or a regular standing order. The greatest strategy to help your funds grow this March is to develop a regular savings habit.”
Customers can opt to have their winnings transferred directly to their bank accounts or to have them automatically reinvested in more Premium Bonds. Awards paid immediately lower the amount of prizes that go unclaimed, allowing consumers to benefit from their victories sooner.
Nearly nine out of ten awards are now paid straight to consumers’ bank accounts or reinvested into new bonds, which is faster, simpler, and more secure than receiving a check in the mail.
From Wednesday, March 2nd, 2022, Premium Bond holders may use the nsandi.com prize checker, official prize checker app, or their Alexa-enabled device to see if they have won a reward in the March prize draw.
To access the website, customers will require their Premium Bonds holder’s number, as well as their NS&I number or holder’s number to check the prize checker app. They can also check for any unclaimed awards owing to them at the same time.
