In an attempt to challenge established media channels, Elon Musk’s X unveiled “Articles,” a new feature that allows users to publish extensive written content on the platform.
Subscribers of X services that are premium users can now produce articles on the platform with stylized text, embedded photos, and videos.
With its last significant update, X is clearly competing with rivals like Meta’s WhatsApp by offering free voice and video calling capabilities to all users.
X just launched “Articles” – long form text posts with some formatting (bold, italic, strikethrough) and the ability to include images and videos.

X engineer Enrique Barragan disclosed the change, stating that non-premium users can now make use of the video and voice calling features. However, there is a catch: callers can only be accounts that users follow or have stored in their contacts.
The company released a statement claiming that Articles is a cutting-edge way to share lengthy written content on X. Article publishing is only available to Premium+ subscribers and Verified Organizations. Anywhere in the world can access these articles.
Moreover, posts, links, GIFs, photos, videos, and other multimedia elements can all be included in articles. Furthermore, you can use formatting elements like headings, subheadings, bold, italics, strikethrough, indentation, numerical lists, and bulleted lists to improve the text’s appearance.
According to the corporation, depending on the audience controls used for the content, any user on X can view and share it after it is published.
To start an article, go to the Articles tab on the side menu of x.com, choose the write option, and when you’re ready, hit publish.
After it is published, you can access your article on your profile by going to the Articles tab. According to the social media network, you can alter the piece after it publishes or remove it entirely if you’d like.
