On Tuesday, Meta’s Facebook and Instagram appeared to be beset by pervasive technical issues, as thousands of users reported encountering difficulties while attempting to access the platforms.
Users have reported issues such as being signed out of the Facebook platform. Downdetector, a monitoring service, detected an increase in error reports shortly after 10:30 a.m. ET on Tuesday.
Furthermore, users of Instagram have complained that their feeds do not refresh.
Reps for the parent firm Meta failed to provide prompt responses to inquiries seeking comment.

Numerous users have reported being signed out without the ability to re-login. The registration difficulties affect both the website and the application.
As of yet, the cause of the disruption is unknown. Difficulties are reported by users when attempting to reset their credentials or employ two-factor authentication.
Individuals post on the outage detection website that they are unable to re-login after their session has expired. It appears that “An Unknown Error Has Occurred” whenever I attempt to re-enter my credentials into the application.
The disruption has elicited apprehension among enterprises that depend on Facebook for promotional purposes, underscoring the platform’s indispensable function in worldwide correspondence.
In an effort to vent their frustrations and obtain updates, users have migrated to alternative social networks, as evidenced by the #FacebookDown trending hashtag.
“A few minutes ago, Messenger and Facebook both logged me out,” writes one Downdetector user. Although I successfully relogged in, I was logged out after one second. I am being unable to log in again.
There were only 40 reports when I first brought attention to the issue; with that number now exceeding 5,000, it appears that Facebook is once again experiencing difficulties.”
Meta operates Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Threads, and Messenger as its parent company.
They all seem to be experiencing identical difficulties. Although Meta has not specified when complete services will be restored, it strongly advises users to monitor official updates.
