When attendees began singing karaoke at a pub in Hilo, Hawaii, on Sunday night, the actor grew enraged and seized the microphone from a 23-year-old, authorities said.
Ezra Miller, who portrays “Flash” in the “Justice League” television series, was detained and charged with disorderly conduct and harassment in Hawaii over the weekend after becoming belligerent at a local pub, authorities said.
Miller, 29, was arrested just after midnight Monday following a complaint of a disruptive patron at a bar on Silva Street in Hilo late Sunday, according to a news release from the Hawaii County Police Department.
Miller grew enraged and “began shouting obscenities” while bar goers sang karaoke, authorities said.
At one point, the actor snatched the microphone away from a 23-year-old lady who was singing, according to the release. Miller allegedly rushed at a 32-year-old guy who was playing darts, authorities said.
Miller was attempted to calm down multiple times by the pub owner.
Miller, identified by police as a Vermont visitor, was detained and subsequently freed after posting a $500 bond.
Miller’s reps have been contacted by NBC News for comment.
Miller is not unfamiliar with controversy.
At 2020, a video emerged online purporting to show a woman being choked in an Icelandic pub, Variety said. The video was linked to Miller, though authorities did not confirm the actor’s involvement at the time. At the time, police stated that no one had been detained or taken into custody in connection with the claimed event, and they were unaware of any injuries sustained by individuals involved.
Miller is also recognised for the 2012 picture “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” and the “Fantastic Beasts” trilogy, in addition to Justice League. Miller will appear in the series’ upcoming film, “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore,” which is scheduled to open in April.
