Eminem has announced the release of his latest single, “Houdini,” on May 31, just over a month after announcing his forthcoming album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce).”
In a post on Instagram, the rapper contact magician David Blaine via FaceTime and request his assistance with a specific matter.
“I was contemplating the extent to which we could extend this enchantment.” Like, can we do a stunt or something?” he inquires of Blaine, who then consumes a tumbler of wine and bites off the rim. “I am going to make my career disappear for my final trick,” Em declares as she exits the conversation.
The rapper’s 12th studio album, which he had previously announced would be released this summer, is not well-known.
The initial offering would be “Houdini,” and a brief excerpt of the instrumental appears to be played at the conclusion of the clip.
Eminem has maintained the confidentiality of certain information regarding “The Death of Slim Shady,” but his mentor and longstanding collaborator Dr. Dre disclosed certain details earlier this year.
Dre disclosed that Eminem was in the process of creating a new album during his appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” in March.
Additionally, he disclosed that he had contributed to numerous tunes on the project and intended to listen to the album for the first time the day following his television appearance.
In April, Eminem announced “The Death of Slim Shady” through a Detroit Murder Files crime show teaser that broadcast during the NFL Draft.
He published a fabricated obituary in the Detroit Free Press earlier this month to bid farewell to Slim Shady, his alter persona, who has been with him for several years.
