“I almost ran him over,” the “Game of Thrones” actor told Yahoo Entertainment in a video interview that came out on Friday. He was talking about an accident that happened on the set of the new MCU show “Secret Invasion.”
Clarke talked about how she was told to drive a Lada, which she said is “like a very old Russian car,” for a scene in the sci-fi thriller show. She was supposed to drive right up to the camera and Jackson and stop short.
But the gear and shifter were hard to figure out because the Lada had something like six knobs and 10 pedals, like “a tractor,” Clarke said.
But production was behind schedule, and there was pressure to get the shot, so Clarke took the chance.
She said, “I pressed the wrong thing. I pressed the gas instead of the brake.”
The character did make a mistake, but she was able to fix it just in time to escape disaster and a crash with Jackson, aka Nick Fury.
Clarke said this about how Jackson handled the situation: “He was very gentlemanly, lovely, and nice.”
But Clarke went on to say, “Then I cried a little bit, and someone else drove it for me.”
In “Secret Invasion,” which also stars Cobie Smulders, Ben Mendelsohn, and Oscar winner Olivia Colman, there is a secret invasion of Earth by the Skrulls, a race of aliens who were first seen in “Captain Marvel” in 2019.Emilia Clarke said that she almost ran over Samuel L. Jackson on the set of “Secret Invasion.”
