Dua Lipa.. This is how she started off her upcoming Future Nostalgia tour: with a big show.
There aren’t many big names in pop right now that are bigger than Dua Lipa. And last night, as the UK and Ireland leg of her much-anticipated Future Nostalgia tour began in Manchester, she showed us why.
The 26-year-old singer made her way into the crowded venue in a pink catsuit that was both form-fitting and eye-catching. People cheered and screamed as she made her way into the venue. Crowd: “This is the best welcome home ever,” she told them. They were all on their feet from the start.
Physical is a song from her 2020 album and the name of the tour. She played it at the start. Following that was New Rules, one of the singer’s first big hits from her first album.
Afterwards, she asked the crowd to sing “I Could Be the One” back to her. It didn’t matter what kind of fan you were or what age you were; everyone knew the words.
Some of Future Nostalgia’s songs were in the middle of the show, and they were all great songs to keep you going. Boys Will Be Boys and Good in Bed were big hits with the crowd.

Everyone went back to the summer of 2018 when Dua and Calvin Harris sang One Kiss together. It was the soundtrack of that summer. All of the people were dancing because of electricity and hallucination.
She used the stage at every chance to show off her moves. During her strut, you couldn’t keep your eyes off her. People were dancing around her, some even on rollerblades, but she took the stage with her fierce energy.
As she sang Cold Heart, a song she did with Elton John, everyone in the stadium sang along with her, too. There were a lot of lights from phones in the venue as she sat on the stage and sang the song. Her voice sounded better live than it does on the radio.
When huge disco balls and stars fell from the ceiling, everyone screamed. As a huge moon was shown on the big screen, the atmosphere was magical.
During Levitating, Dua was lifted into the air on a platform that flashed. Her fans looked on in awe. There was still a lot of fun to be had at the party.
She wore another amazing catsuit when she sang Future Nostalgia and then ended the show with Don’t Start Now.
Because of Covid and social rules, this show was supposed to happen in September last year. It was moved to last night because of those rules and because the show was supposed to happen in September. Crowd restrictions seemed like a long time ago when I looked around at all the people who were in the arena.
