This year marks the tenth anniversary of the “Belt and Road” initiative and the seventieth anniversary of the establishment of the first engineering office of a Chinese construction company.
The ongoing project of the first engineering office of the Chinese Construction focuses on its main responsibilities and core operations. It plans to hold 7 cultural activities for Sino-Egyptian cultural integration and 7 volunteer activities.
We strive for better integration, forming a professional external construction team, enhancing cultural integration between Egyptian and Chinese employees.
The project establishes the brand “Festival Corridor between Egypt and China” and relies on traditional Chinese and Egyptian festivals to organize collective weddings between Egyptians and Chinese, used goods markets, Egyptian and Chinese food festivals, lantern riddles, artistic flower exhibitions, water games between Egyptians and Chinese, empty dish battles, and other activities that allowed Egyptian employees to understand and love Chinese culture.
They experienced the charm of traditional Chinese culture fully and enhanced the integration of Chinese and Egyptian cultures.
During this year’s Dragon Boat Festival, the project held a “Dragon Boat” activity, where Egyptian and Chinese employees participated in many games including boat races and more.
One of the Egyptian employees in the project said in an interview with CCTV News, “This event will allow more Egyptian colleagues to know the story of Qu Yuan, and it will also allow them to understand more about Chinese culture.”
During the Spring Festival, the project held the “Sino-Egyptian Food Festival to celebrate the New Year”, and a highly unique “New Year’s Eve” dinner was held in the form of a food street where there were more than 50 types of delicious food. The Chinese employees felt warm when they saw the delicious food from their homeland, and the Egyptian employees were amazed by the Chinese dishes.
In addition to work, the project actively fulfills its social responsibilities, works to develop responsible young employees, establishes a voluntary service team, actively participates in Egyptian public welfare projects, and creates a brand for voluntary services under the name “My Desert Star”.
The project cooperates with the Resala Association, the largest charity organization in Egypt, to carry out volunteer activities in Egyptian orphanages.
The youth of the project went to the old Africa Hope Elementary School in Cairo and did many activities with the children.
On Youth Day, May 4th, the project’s youth employees headed to the Ain Sokhna beach in Egypt to carry out the youth volunteer activity “Battle for Cleaning the Red Sea Beaches” and collected marine litter.
On Children’s Day, the project invited Chinese students to go to the New Cairo Kindergarten to carry out volunteer activities through donations, educational games, and other forms.
This aims to promote mutual understanding and friendship between the Egyptian and Chinese people.
