New study shows obese adults dropped 1st 4lb by drinking apple cider vinegar daily for 12 weeks.
According to a BMJ Nutrition, Prevention & Health research, it may increase metabolism and fat burning.
Some 120 overweight and obese volunteers were encouraged to eat their usual meals with 5ml to 15ml of apple cider vinegar daily.
In 12 weeks, individuals who drank 10ml to 15ml a day dropped 11lb to 14lb, whereas those who took a placebo lost 2lb.
According to the research, ACV may improve metabolic parameters linked to obesity and metabolic diseases in obese people.
“The results may contribute to evidence-based recommendations for the use of ACV as a dietary intervention in the management of obesity.”
Nutritionist and SAQ coach at Bio-Synergy Daniel Herman told GB News about apple cider vinegar’s advantages, despite conflicting research.
He said: “Apple cider vinegar may promote weight reduction, but research is conflicting.
“Some research suggests that apple cider vinegar might slightly increase the rate at which the body burns calories, potentially contributing to weight loss over time.”
Some studies show it boosts metabolism, aids digestion, and prevents fat storage.
The specialist added: “Apple cider vinegar’s acetic acid may affect fat storage. Apple cider vinegar may improve digestion and intestinal health, thereby affecting weight loss.”
Daniel advised using the condiment with a nutritious diet and exercise for long-term weight reduction.
Expert: “Apple cider vinegar may help with weight reduction, but it’s not a miracle cure. Healthy eating, exercise, and lifestyle are essential.”
Most supermarkets, health shops, and internet retailers sell apple cider vinegar. Fermented apple juice may be eaten in different ways.
A tablespoon of apple cider vinegar may be mixed with water, added to a meal, or used as salad dressing.
