BrightDrop, General Motors‘ electric delivery van business, has renamed its two electric delivery vans and its electric delivery cart to better reflect the company’s new branding.
The BrightDrop EV600, the larger of the two vans, will be dubbed the BrightDrop Zevo 600, while the BrightDrop EV410 will be dubbed the BrightDrop Zevo 400. The BrightDrop EV600 will be available in two sizes: standard and extended.
Zevo was chosen because it incorporates the letters ZEV (Zero Emissions Vehicle) and EV (Electric Vehicle), as well as being a play on the word “zero,” which refers to General Motors’ objective of zero crashes, zero emissions, and zero congestion, according to a statement released Friday.
The Zevo 600 van has a cargo capacity of 600 cubic feet and is intended for long-distance delivery. According to GM’s calculations, it has a range of up to 250 miles on a single battery charge.
The Zevo 400 van has a cargo capacity of more than 400 cubic feet and is ideal for smaller, more frequent deliveries, such as food drop-offs and telecom service maintenance.
BrightDrop has renamed its electric pallet the BrightDrop Trace, which is short for e-cart spelled backward, in order to distinguish it from its predecessor. Previously, it was referred to as the EP1.
It is the Trace’s responsibility to deliver products from the delivery vehicle to the customer’s door.
