The Egyptian superstar Amr Diab turns 62 years old on October 11.
The famous singer Amr Diab was born in Port Said in 1961.
He has become more well-known in the Arab world over the last 20 years.
A BBC story and his official Facebook page both say that he keeps setting new sales records.
“Ya Tareeq” (The Path), Diab’s first record, came out in 1983. With his most famous record, “Nour el-Ain” (Our Eyes Beam), he became known around the world and was called “The Father of Mediterranean Music” for the way he mixed Egyptian and Western sounds in a way that no one else did.
