Eman El Waraki, the investigative journalist and founder of the “Artificial Intelligence (AI) Revolution” initiative, is scheduled to participate in a training course on artificial intelligence and journalism as part of an ongoing initiative to improve the capabilities of African journalists and media professionals in Egypt.
The course, “AfroMedia,” will commence at the Journalists’ Syndicate on the upcoming Monday.
This initiative is in accordance with the commemoration of Africa Day and the anniversaries of the Organization of African Unity’s inception and World Press Freedom Day.
The African Union Office in Cairo will oversee the organization of the training course, which will be governed by the directives of Agenda 2063. Agenda 2063 is designed to amplify the voices of African peoples and acknowledge the role of future generations in the pursuit of African unity and aspirations.
Furthermore, it capitalizes on the communication strategy established in this agenda to foster unity among African society segments and increase awareness of the significance of media programs.
The training content will be enhanced and the abilities of participating journalists and media professionals will be improved by El Waraki, who has a wealth of experience in AI and journalism.
This aligns with the initiative’s objective of delivering intelligent and innovative journalism that is reflective of the diversity and integration of African society.
El Waraki, an investigative journalist and international trainer, has been the recipient of six international and local honors in investigative journalism, including the Arab Journalism Award.
Data journalism, artificial intelligence, fact-checking mechanisms, mobile journalism, investigative journalism, and podcasts are anticipated to be included in the course as contemporary media.
