The Afghan Disaster Affairs Department reported that the death toll from the recent floods in the country has risen to 47, along with 57 injuries and severe damage to hundreds of residences and agricultural hectares.
The chief of the Disaster Affairs Department, Shafiullah Rahimi, was quoted by the Afghan Khaama Press news agency on Friday, stating that at least 47 people died and 57 others were injured as a result of the floods that surged through 11 provinces in Afghanistan.
According to the Afghani agency, those affected by the floods are pleading with Taliban authorities and humanitarian organisations to provide them with shelter and essential necessities.
The agency noted that Afghanistan is one of the nations most susceptible to natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, landslides, and drought.
